A little bit about us, we opened our doors for business in November 2009 with the solid ambition to serve high quality authentic Indian cuisine in Oranmore, County Galway. Indian food over time has escaped the European misunderstanding or notion of ‘one sauce fits all’ and has been recognized for the rich dining experience with all the wonderful potent flavours of India. Oran Tandoori wanted to contribute to the Indian food awakening and so when a suitable premise came available in Unit-2, howley court at the heart of a busy Oranmore suburb, Oran Tandoori Restaurant as it is today was born.
Oran Tandoori team will happily espouse the many virtues of their style of cooking, dedicated to balance and care of the body. Our staff hail from many regions of India, each person holding an academic catering qualification and/or experience in a 5* hospitality setting in India. Each guest of Oran Tandoori Restaurant is welcomed individually and with great enthusiasm. We will always take great care that a novice Indian diner, a seasoned foodie and of course our precious regulars experience true Indian hospitality. Without the advice from the TA community we would never have considered this restaurant in an anonymous outer suburb of Galway (sorry locals, if we got that wrong!). Coming back to Galway from a strenuous Burren walk we longed for some tasty and filling meal. Since it was Easter Friday we suspected many restaurants would be closed.
The Oran Tandoori was open, not packed but busy. We were greeted in the most welcoming way, led to a nicely laid table and given the comprehensive menu; with very many choices indeed. Eventually we settled for the dinner for two weekend option, with two starters, two mains and two beverages for €40, a price we can only dream of back home in Sweden. It even included pre-starter papadums and chutneys.
Both the starters and mains were finger – licking good, the service extremely fast and at the same time both friendly and polite without being intrusive.
We could not have been happier with our choice of the restaurant or the dishes, and we fully agree with the many “excellent” reviews. Thumbs up from us, guys, keep up the good work, and thanks for the sweets!
First time here and I was very dubious of all of the great reviews but now I understand them, service is first class and the food is excellent, very authentic which is something that is missing in a lot of Indian restaurants in Ireland. Will definitely be back again soon. Try it, you won’t be disappointed
Found this Indian Restaurant on Trip Advisor and was blown away with the level of service and quality of food. Very friendly staff and can really see why it’s the number 1 restaurant in Galway. Definitely coming back. Even downloaded the Trip Advisor app especially to write this review.

Its very good restaurant and service is the best.we order from them take away but we going there often for dinner as well. Best indian ever. highly reccomended
